7Days holds auditions each Fall near the beginning of the semester. Both undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Minnesota are eligible to sign up for an audition slot.
Audition slots are ten minutes long and include:
- Brief introductions
- Auditionees performing 40-60 seconds of any song they feel confident in singing
- Auditonees participating in a guided range check
After auditions have concluded, auditionees will receive a callback decision.
Callback procedure is the same as the first audition except auditionees who receive a callback are given a piece of music from 7Days’ repertoire to learn and then sing with the group during their callback in order to test for blend.
After callbacks have concluded, 7Days– along with each other acappella group on campus– will send out their acceptances and rejection on the Friday morning of callbacks week. Those who are accepted into 7Days have until the end of the weekend to accept or deny their admission.
